27th Painting Colony in Porec
Wed, Mar 3, 2010
Last year in September, St. Nikola’s Island near Porec welcomed artists from Slovenia, Italy, Austria and Croatia. The 27th painting colony selector Danino Božic gathered the following academic painters: Dare Birsa, Bojan Bensa, Tomislav Brajnovic, Mario Dalpra, Richard Kaplenig, Dušan Kirbiš and Silvestro Lodi.
Riviera Porec founded the painting colony in 1983, on its thirtieth anniversary. It has been taking place ever since, with more than 170 artists who have participated in the event. During their stay on St. Nikola’s Island, the painters are provided with accommodation and work space, and they are expected to use the peaceful and idyllic surrounding of St. Nikola’s Island as an inspiration for the work of art which they will leave as their contribution to the colony’s collection. The works made while the colony is taking place and left by the artists, are displayed in the Valamar facilities in Porec after an organized exhibition takes place.
I, therefore, invite you to come to the exhibition of the works made by the participants of the 27th Riviera Painting Colony on 5 March 2010 at 7 pm at Mala galerija of the Porec Open University.
Don’t miss the opportunity and see the works of artists who participated in the 27th painting colony all in one place. The exhibition will be open until 20 March.
