Young Olive Oil Days
Tue, Oct 25, 2011
The wealth of the Istrian peninsula is based on olive growing, a tradition that is more than two thousand years long. Olive, a symbol of peace and health, is often perceived as a highly-nutritious Mediterranean fruit, and back in the ancient times, olive oil was thought of as liquid gold.
All those who enjoy the taste of the “liquid gold” must visit the Young Olive Oil Days gastronomic happening which will take place from 18 through 20 November, in the small town of Vodnjan located at the south-western part of Istria.
Join us and enjoy numerous tasting opportunities and lectures by experts, gathering some of the best olive growers and oil producers from the entire Adriatic Euroregion. One of the most interesting events will surely be the whole-day gastronomic show which will include participation of hoteliers and conservation professionals who have prepared plenty of surprises and the entire event will be accompanied by numerous entertainment programmes.
The fair will be open every day from 11 am to 8 pm.
This unique happening counts an average of over 18000 visitors, people who enjoy olive oil and first class gastronomic treats, in only three days.
Young Olive Oil Days in Vodnjan is becoming an important meeting place of Croatian producers and those in the oil production business, as well as international guests. The justification of the investments made into the development of olive growing and the promotion of oil has already recorded enviable results; today olive oil is one of the brands Croatia is famous for both in the region and throughout the world.
By tasting the extra virgin olive oil during the Young Olive oil Days in Vodnjan, you will surely discover the true flavour of Istria.
