The beaches of Rabac – the istrian beauties
Wed, Oct 8, 2008
During the middle of the 19th century, Rabac was a small fisherman village with only a dozen houses, but nowdays it is a well-known seaside summer resort. Because of a beautiful lagoon and gentle prospects, it was soon visited by first hikers, and I would like to single out the English novelist and travel-writer Richard Francis Burton, who sojourned in Rabac many years back in 1876, which was an inspiration to his book ‘’The Seaboards of Istria’’ in which he described the beauties and charm of our Rabac.
But let us go back to the present day. I dare to say that in Rabac one can find the most beautiful beaches and sea in entire Istria. Once inspired, I wrote a poem on Rabac beaches. Nobody ever read it, and I decided at the end of the blog to share it with you. Bathing, basking in the sun, strolling, riding a bicycle, walking, field trips, Nordic walking, gourmet specialties, relaxation in wellness, or a simple coffee drinking and enjoying the view of Kvarner islands, all that – yes, all that – will welcome you in Rabac, a Pearl of Kvarner.
Therefore, we invite you to visit Rabac and feel its beauty and charm. One never knows, but maybe even you will find an inspiration and write a book or a rhyme. In such case, we would be overjoyed to share it with us.
THE BEAUTIES OF RABAC
Flooded with sunshine, its enchanting radiance and warmth,
The beauties of Rabac accompany my thoughts, filling my heart with a magical delight.
The magnificent lagoons and every pebble, follows you on your way home.
A magical dance of pebbles and the sea,
A charming melody in crowns of the pines,
Will make you come back to us,
Because of flawless beauties of Rabac.
