Due to our fast way of life and increasing dependence on vehicles, we have almost forgotten to take healthy, relaxing walks. Walking is the easiest and most natural way of moving, which will keep your whole body healthy and has many positive effects on our physical and mental health. Walking is a recreational activity that can be done anywhere and anytime, without expensive additional equipment or gyms. The only things you need are time and willingness. Taking regular walks improves our psychophysical condition and strengthens every muscle in our body without putting it under additional pressure in the process.
This year, all hikers and other fans of walking and nature are once again invited to joint us for the ninth “Long Walk Day” manifestation, which will take place on Saturday, 21 April, to mark the Earth Day. The Labin hiking trail stretches from Sisol (with access from Brsec) to Skitaca (the endpoint being Crna Punta) over some 40 km (25 miles), requiring 12 hours of walking at the most. The walk is scheduled to start at 6 a.m. in Brsec, with the goal being Skitaca from 4 p.m. onwards.
The nature will make you feel free and the fresh air will help you get over some stressful and tense moments, which are, unfortunately, part of our everyday lives.
