LABIN ART REPUBLIC
Wed, Jul 2, 2008
In the eastern part of Istria, three kilometers from the sea, is the medieval town of Labin. A town with a rich historical and cultural heritage, it is today a town of art galleries and artists who work and reside here througout the year. Since 2003, an artistic and entertainment event, the Labin Art Republic (LAR), has been held here that represents a connection between the traditional (the Labin Republic of 1921) and the artistic.
This year’s Labin Art Republic will last from 1 July to 1 September. During that time, a torch-lit sightseeing tour of the old town of Labin will be organized every Tuesday evening.
