In the eastern region of Istria, only three kilometres from the sea, a Mediaeval town Labin is situated, a town of rich history and cultural inheritance, today a town of many galleries and artists who create and live here throughout the year. Since 2003, Labin in the summer months hosts manifestation of art and entertainment Labin Art Republic (LAR), which represent merging of traditional (Labin Republic from 1921) and art.

This year’s Labin Art Republic will take place from 1 July to 1 September. In this period, evening sightseeing of the old town of Labin by torch lights will be organized, when our dear visitors will find out the history of the ancient town through legends, tales and expert leadership in English language.

LAR opens on 1 July at 7 p.m. with the raising of flag on Torion with live performance of Mornice choir. At 8 p.m. you can visit the exhibition of Davor Gobac at the Town gallery, while at 9 p.m. a Bosnian band Dubioza kolektiv will perform nest to the fountain.
