Rabac

The sea in Rabac is incredibly clear and it is rarely any deeper than 70 meters, what makes it ideal for diving tourism.

Various locations include shipwrecks which will leave you in awe, reefs screaming with colours, exciting rocks and a colourful underwater world. Here in Rabac and the  camping Marina you will find the Scuba diving centre and its various offers: from test dives to full PADI and CMAS courses, and there all also boat excursion to choose from…

Professional instructors will provide you with the overall training, equipment and guidance necessary to enjoy the underwater world in Rabac at locations such as Girandella, Lanterna, Babino and the island of Cres hiding the Lina shipwreck and an Italian steamboat which used to transport oil and wine from the Puglia region as well as coal from Cardiff. Lina lost its course in January 1914 because of the thick fog and it sank not long after hitting a reef. Another cargo ship which transported coal hit a mine not far from the Mašnjak Cape and sank at the entrance into the Plomin Bay. Divers can still see the remains of the small wooden rescue boats which had fallen from the Vis steamboat.

However, there are more than shipwrecks for divers to see here. There is the magnificent fish shoal around the caves, as well as the walls and reefs at diving locations providing divers with the possibility of close encounters with striped breams, sea horses, crabs and lobsters. Tourists who are divers will see for themselves that Rabac and its peaceful and crystal clear sea offer all the necessary conditions for you to enjoy the beauties of the underwater world in a safe way. Of course, when accommodation is concerned, choose one of Valamar’s hotels or apartments, all located along the coastline, right by the sea.
