Rabac

(1) Did you know that the first hotel in Rabac was opened In June 1889? It was located in the house of the Viškovi? family near today’s atelier Orlando and was called Quarnero. A regular guest to the hotel, which then only had a few rooms and a bar on the ground floor, was the Austrian officer Kaiser, who some time later purchased the Dubrova Estate (in Labin).

(2) Did you know that all of Rabac’s beaches have a Blue Flag? Rabac is a favourite summer destination because of its white pebble beaches and crystal clear sea. It got its Blue Flags in 2002. Representatives of the international Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which aims to make beaches safe for swimmers, evaluated Rabac in a number of areas: the cleanliness of the sea and the beaches, the management of the beaches and the safety of swimmers, the conservation of the natural surroundings, and environmental awareness. Rabac was also the winner of the Croatian Tourist Association award “Blue flower with golden sign” for the best kept tourist settlement on the Adriatic in 2007.

(3) Did you know that Rabac accommodates around ten thousand guests? Thus, in the high season this small village of 1500 inhabitants turns into a true tourist destination with visitors from all over Europe and the world. Our buildings make up a major part of this capacity.
There are 10 Valamar residential buildings in Rabac: six hotels, a tourist settlement with three pavilions, apartments and villas and one campsite. All the buildings are located very close to the crystal clear sea and the well-tended beaches in an attractive position on the eastern Istrian coast.
