The celebration of St. Mauro holiday last Friday, on November 21, the town of Porec rounded up with the opening of multi-purpose sports hall Žatika. The beauty, at the very entrance into the town, is pride of all residents of Porec. At the hall, by the beginning of the next year, in January, the matches of the World Handball Championship for men will be held.
The very opening celebration itself was something beautiful. Along with the Mayor, there were also guests from the high places from the world of sports, politics and everyday life, and many rezidents from the town of Porec and Istria.

Outside the sports hall, and in the hall itself, the guests had been treated with quality wine, champagne, juices and, of course, kroštule and fritule. On this occasion I would like to compliment all our employees in our hotels, in the food and beverages department, who flawlessly done their catering business. It is interesting to mention that two and a half thousand glasses were prepared for this occasion, from which the guests drank around one hundred litres of champagne, and as much of wine and juice. And our hotel, Valamar Diamant, prepared for that occasion a luncheon for the Mayor and his guests with a special menu.

On Saturday, November 22, once again was very lively in the Valamar Diamant Hotel. Lions club Porec held its eleventh humanitarian ball. At the ball, with a pleasant company, around sixty thousand Kunas was collected, which will be donated to those who are most wanting.
