Porec

Spring has arrived, and cyclists are slowly beginning to remove the cobwebs from their pedals. Here are three Porec trails that will definitely be of interest to those who love taking a ride on two wheels (via bike-istra).

St. Mauro Trail (length 41 km). The start and finish point is Porec (Hospital). The height difference is 310 m, and the highest point has an altitude of 230 m. It is on both asphalt and macadam, where 38 km are asphalt and 3 km on macadam. The trip takes around 2 – 2.5 hours. Route difficulty: easy.
Highlights: Marafor, Euphrasiana, Višnjan

Euphrasiana Trail (length 47 km). The start and finish points are the same as the above route. The height difference is 415 km, and the highest point has an altitude of 205 m. It is on asphalt and macadam, where 42 km are asphalt and 5 km are macadam. The trip takes around 2 – 2.5 hours. Route difficulty: easy.
Highlights: St. Lovrec: the sacral treasures and frescoes of the Parish church of St. Martin.

The Trail of St Michael Underground (length 18.1 km). If you want to cycle on macadam through natural surroundings provided by olive groves and vineyards then this route Kaštelir - Labinci - Baredine - Kaštelir will definitely be of interest to you. In contrast with the above two routes, most of the Trail St. Michael is on macadam (14.1 km), and asphalt 4 km. The height difference is 177 m, and the highest altitude is at 247 m. The trip takes around 1-1.5 h.
Highlights: the Church of St. Cosmos and St. Damian, the Church of St. John the Baptist, the Church of the Holy Trinity, the remains of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Michael, the human fish in the Baredine cave, an ethnographic collection: an old mill, old utensils for work in the fields, old tools…
