Porec 24 and the Guinness record

Porec

Can you imagine how much patience, strength, concentration, skill and precision is necessary to build a pyramid? Well.., the only ones who could provide you an answer to that question are the old Egyptians whose architectural skills take credit for those everlasting buildings that the whole world has been admiring for centuries now. Although we can’t claim to know what “magic” was used todtructure these big stone blocks in the perfectly shaped forms during the time of this ancient civilisation, we can invite you to have a look at one pyramid being constructed. However, this is some other kind of a pyramid, but never the less, still a pyramid.

The pyramid will be constructed by the Porec bartender Anto Kafadar, whereas he will instead of working with heavy and firm stone blocks, with pinpoint accuracy use something much more fragile – something transparent that you pour fluid in by the name of champagne, and the venture we are talking about is an attempt to beat the Guinness record.
On the photo next to this post you can have a glimpse at what it looked like the last time this Porec bartender did this. To your opinion, how many glasses are there in this pyramid? The answer is - a lot! Before he assembled this pyramid, the Guinness record was 7700 glasses, but Anto Kafadar surpassed this number by far.

When champagne began to flow from the top of a pyramid that was 5,30 meters long and 3,80 meters wide, those who witnessed the event could do nothing more but just stand and admire the sight. In this post we want to inform you that this impressive image did not leave Anto satisfied for a long time, and that has in the mean time decided to build a new pyramid and beat the old Guinness book record.

Namely, in organisation of the town of Porec and the Valamar hotels & resorts on Friday, August 24th, Anto Kafader will on the sea promenade in front of Parentino Residence at exactly 6 p.m. start assembling a pyramid of 8436 champagne glasses with 24 hours to finish it!

This event will be held in the scope of the traditional tourist festivity “Porec 24″ that will take place next weekend, to be exact on Friday, August 24th and Saturday, August 25th. Visitors can enjoy rich gastronomic offer, performance of a great number of musicians and enterainment until early morning hours, you can find the complete programme of the festivity on “Porec 24″.
