MUSIC EVENTS IN POREC
We will try to update the Valamar blog as regularly as possible with the events that we think are definitely worth a visit during your stay in our country. Today we give you Porec with its musical events, and tomorrow we will present Dubrovnik.
In our first posts about Porec, it has already been mentioned that there are a lot of museums and galleries in the old town centre, one of them being the “Lapidarium” of the regional museum (“Zavicajni muzej Poreštine”), where for 11 consecutive summers a top quality music programme has been organised.
Being part of the old town core, the “Lapidarium” has immense historical value, providing an inspiring space for musicians to perform in. It is no wonder that the programme entitled «Jazz in the Lapidarium» has been delighting lovers of good music for years now. This is a place where you can go every Wednesday all summer long, to enjoy outstanding performances of jazz musicians from Croatia and abroad, and in the next two weeks there will be two concerts held as part of the programme.
Henry Radanovic Quartet backed by the singer Valerija is scheduled to perform on Wednesday, 11th July at 9 pm, and a week after that the “Jazz in the Lap” will host a jazz vocalist, poet and actress Denise Jannah, an interesting and versatile woman, two-time Edison Awards winner who in her long-standing career has done a lot of things, among others she sang for Nelson Mandela.
After Denise Jannah, “Jazz in the Lapidarium” will continue with the concerts’ programme every Wednesday until the end of August.
