A lot of events are currently going on in Porec. Yesterday we announced the Street Art Festival, and today we have something for the lovers of visual arts and classical music.

The Euphrasian Basilica has been for the past 46 summers hosting the classical music concerts and for the successful organization of these events, the main institution “to blame” is the Cultural Activities Department of the Open University in Porec. The whole programme, pictures, reviews of the concerts held in the Euphrasian Basilica can be seen on the official websites Concerts in Basilica, and we will announce the three concerts that follow:
• 07th August – Tuesday, 21.00, Karmen Pecar (violoncello) and Srebrenka Poljak (piano)
• 10th August – Friday, 21.00, Viktor Vidovic (guitar) and Borna Šercar (drums)
• 17th August – Friday, 21.00, Greenwich trio (violin, piano, cello)
47th Porec Annale
When: 3rd August 2007 – 9th September 2007
Porec Annale is the oldest Croatian visual arts manifestation which was first held in 1961. The works on this exhibition are selected and thematically modelled by eminent Croatian historians of art and it is held in the Porec old town, in the premises of the historic building of the Istrian Parliament. From year to year the Annale exhibition brings us an overview of the contemporary art through the selected works of Croatian and international artists.
Art and City, Towards the minimum, Mediterranean and erotica… are only some of the subject themes from the Porec Annales held so far and among the authors who participated, we should definitely mention Andy Warhol, Joseph Beuyus, Dalibor Martinis, Dušan Džamonja… The main theme of this years’ Annale is “The artist of the pure sight”, while the selector is Antun Maracic, director of Dubrovnik Gallery.
