Porec

Yesterday we announced a series of events that will be held in Porec during May. The first one starts today. ‘BOOKtiga’ is the first international festival of book reading and will be held in Porec throughout the weekend of 4th to 6th May.
The aim of this unique event is to present a new and interesting way to popularise books and reading.

In partnership with the popular advertising magazine “Butiga”, from which the name of the event comes, throughout these three days and in addition to the sale, exchange and giving away of mainly second hand books, the BOOKtiga festival will work with visitors to hunt down the oldest editions. The owner of the oldest edition will receive a prize, and will be offered the possibility of selling the publication for the Collection in Porec’s Town Library.

BOOKtiga is held at Marafor, the oldest Antique Square in Porec which is where the town library is located. Leading antique dealers from Rijeka, Zagreb, Koper and Ljubljana have confirmed their attendance, and they will be present throughout the festival. Leading librarians will also participate.
