Wine festival in Gracisce
Yesterday on Easter Monday, the sixth Wine Festival of Central Istria took place in Gracisce, where the most important wine producers from Istrian wine centres presented their wine to numerous visitors. 235 quality wine specimens were exhibited in eleven wine cellars, most of which being naturally the local Malvazija and Teran wine sorts.
Even though the weather did make it easy for the organisers, it did not stop a large number of visitors to attend to this event. Since the festival took place on an extended weekend holiday, many tourists from different parts of the world along with locals and wine lovers happily roamed the wine cellars tasting quality Istrian wines.
After the performance of folk musicians at 3 PM, the best wine award ceremony took place at 4 PM: in the Malvazija category the awards went to Benvenuti wines, Romeo Licul, Dusko Angelini, An?elo Brcic, Adriano cernek and Silvano Jelenic, whilst in the Teran category the awards went to Edo Bencic, Silvano Pataj, Paljuh family, Ecio Cinic and Silvano Legovic. Awards were presented to the producers of Muscat, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wine sorts as well. After everybody had had enough food and good wine, they could dance on the music of the local band Gustafi, whose performance on the main square concluded this interesting event.
