Christmas and New Year holidays are right around the corner. St. Nicholas’ Day is behind us and I hope all of you that behaved nicely received a gift. I suppose now you are thinking about Christmas gifts for your dearest ones. My recommendation is to make something yourself; that is the most beautiful gift of them all!

Since days filled with joy are drawing near, all those who find themselves in Labin for Christmas holidays will have the opportunity of enjoying good music and various events. On Saturday, 19 December, the Day of Children’s Joy will be celebrated at the Labin cinema. Around 450 Labin youngsters, from the age of three to those enrolled in first class in primary school, will receive gift packages. Santa Claus will be handing out the packages in three groups and everything will be accompanied by a programme held by the animation and theatre company Sareni svijet from Zagreb. On 20 December a small Santa Claus’ train will be taking the children on a ride along the decorated Labin streets.

A traditional Christmas concert by the Labin Italian Community choirs will also be held at the Labin cinema. Performances will include the Giuseppina Martinuzzi mixed choir, Minicantanti, the Extra Large group and the Filodramatico Arcobaleno group.
Let 3, Zoran Misic and Spedd band, Zinedin Zidan and several other demo bands will be the main stars of the Lamparna concert. The fifth Christmas rock concert will take place on Christmas Day and the overall profit will be donated to the Labin Association of Persons with Disabilities.

Two days later, on 27 December, you will have the opportunity of enjoying a Christmas concert by the MI Association during which parish choirs from the entire Labin region and their guests from other parts of Istria will be performing at the Labin cinema.
