Island of Krk

In order to provide the guests of the Koralj hotel with a stay which will be as interesting as possible, this year we have decided to revive the ancient legend of the lost treasure, in collaboration with the local community of the town of Krk, the Culture Centre and several outsourced associates.
The entire hotel staff will out on pirate costumes and teleport the guests back to the era of pirates and battles between galleys.

Back in the ancient times the town of Krk was the central place where goods, material, spices and other trade goods were exchanged. The legends says that way back in 1524 a violent theft occurred in front of Krk when the pirates from Plavnik had intercepted a trade galley with a rich cargo in a narrow area between the two deserted islands of Mali Plavnik and Planik. During the battle between the galley belonging to the pirates and the one of the Duke’s guard, one ship with all its treasure and valuables was sunk. The only thing that was left from the distress was the mysterious map with instructions of how to find the treasure chest. The story was passed on from one generation to another and it became a sort of a legend.

In collaboration with a pirate boat (Otac Roko), we have organized an excursion entitled “Tresure hunt” during which the guests will receive a map with the instructions and set off onto an adventure to the island of Plavnik. The excursion includes interesting stories told by the captain of the boat and pirate snack awaiting the guests upon their return.
