Fisherman’s Festival in Krk

Have you ever been to a fisherman’s festival? The smell of fish on the grill, good domestic wine (like Vrbnicka Zlahtina), the songs of klapa, a real native, Mediterranean atmosphere. If you have not been to such a festival, I recommend that you visit the Fisherman’s Festival on 2 August on the riva in Krk.
I am certain that those who have been to a fisherman’s festival along the Adriatic coast can barely wait to go again and enjoy good home-made fish. To be on Krk and not to visit the Fisherman’s Festival is like going to Paris and not seeing the Mona Lisa.
Experienced gourmands say that fish is best on the grill – especially fish with an oily flesh (picarels, brisling, sardines, mackerel tuna, etc.). There is an expression that fish has to swim three times: the first time in the sea, the second time in oil, and the third time in wine, which means that after enjoying good fish, you should drink a glass of good wine.
If you really cannot come to Krk and enjoy the atmosphere, we recommend that you try to prepare fish in the following way: Clean and wash the fish and place some rosemary in the cleaned cavity. Cover it with some lemon juice. Place on the grill. Depending on the size of the fish, grill each side from four to five minutes. Cover the fish with a mixture of olive oil, chopped garlic and parsley. Bon apetit!
