An underwater adventure in Krk
Thu, Oct 2, 2008
If you are still eager for pleasures of the sea, and you think that the sea is to cold for swimming, we invite you to put on your diving equipment and start exploring the offshore of the Isle of Krk.
Still, to take a dive, it is necessary to complete a diving course in one of the diving clubs, when you will, after the completion of course, get a card confirming that you have passed the course. If you have already passed the diving course, you will need a permit issued by harbour-master offices. At the beginning, it is not necessary to have the equipment, because you can rent it at better equipped clubs that you will find on the Isle of Krk.
The diving clubs on Krk organize the tours at various underwater locations around the Isle of Krk, and also nearby Isles of Cres, Plavnik and Prvi?. We recommend the following locations:
Pelastis – a sunken ship 50 meters long and eight meters wide is the most visited diving destination on Krk, and she is in the canal between the Isle of Krk and the town of Crikvenica,
A sailboat with cannons 30 meters long and eight meters wide at the Northeast part of the isle of Plavnik.
We must point out that carrying out of any object is strictly forbidden, as well as any kind of devastation of the archeological underwater finding places, such as amphoras, which in ancient times mostly served for storing and transportation of wine and oil.
And finally, we especially recommend you to go in offshore explorations with your diving school instructor!
