5th International Krk Angling Cup

Have you ever wondered what’s so interesting in standing and waiting for the hook to start twitching?
It might be the genes in my case, but I started fishing when I was very young. I would take my fishing hook and some bread as bait and set out to catch small fish with my friend. While our peers swam and dived into the sea by jumping from rocks, we would spent countless hours catching fish. Unfortunately, I have to admit that I often returned home with an empty bucket, but now and then I did manage to catch a sparidae or two.
I am writing this hoping I will entice you to try angling at least once. You will have the opportunity to do so on 31 July 2010 in the Krk Bay aquatorium. The programme will start at 7 a.m. when the competitors are to gather and the small boats are to follow the main boat and then set out towards their own location and start their game. Many might feel that sports angling is not as appealing as when we go angling for our own pleasure, but there is another side of the story we must think about; that race for every dekagram or centimetre of fish that was caught.
All fishermen have one thing in common; besides chasing the trophy, they all enjoy spending time at and with the sea. The love between these two competitors is great and being friends with the sea makes one happy, merry and particularly pleased, especially when success is measured in dekagrams as the competition ends, and weighing the catch, preparing lunch and announcing the winner follow.
