summer events krkFor 52 years in a row the city of Krk organizes summer events, and this year’s events last from 5th July till 21st August. The lovers of harmony singing are invited to the grand opening at the square Kamplin on Saturday, 5th July, beginning at 9:30 p.m., because there will be a performance by the harmony-singing group sufit from Split, Nostalgija from Zagreb and Sinj from Sinj.

On Monday, 7th July, at 9:30 p.m. at the Castle Frankopan there will be a play “SHAKEspeare on EXit“ performed by the Zagreb theatre Exit. Monodrama by Zijah Sokolovic “Me?uigre“ (Interplays) will be on the repertory on 14th July. Tamara Obrovac will perform for the lovers of ethnic music on Saturday 19th July.

Among other performances in the program there are:
21st July: “Gle, kako dan lijepo pocinje“ (Look at the Beautiful Start of the Day) by the theatre Kiklop
27th July: “Zagrebacki orkestar“ (Zagreb Orchestra) by the acting company Histrioni
18th August: “Trazi se novi suprug“ (Looking for a New Husband) by the theatre JAK from Mali Losinj

The lovers of classical music can listen to a concert by the tuba quartet XL of the Zagreb Philharmonics on 25th July in the castle, and on the 1st August at St Francis convent there will be a performance by Maxim Fedotov on the violin and Galina Petrova on the piano.

On this year’s summer events you can travel through history. Ensemble Ministrel from Dubrovnik will hold a concert of Renaissance music on Kamplin on 8th August, while the ensemble Responsorium from Zagreb will perform Baroque extravaganzas and canzonettes on 14th August at St Francis convent.
52nd summer events Krk will end on 21st August with arias in the interpretation of mezzosoprano Kristina Kolar and baritone Roberto Kolar accompanied by Vladimir Babin on the piano.
