The town of Dubrovnik’s tourist card
Fri, Sep 25, 2009
With the goal of promoting cultural events and giving a 50% discount at the same time, the town of Dubrovnik has introduced a new tourist product – a tourist card. Every major European town has a tourist card as a part of its offer which makes things easier for the tourists while they are staying in the town in a way that it helps them see as many cultural sights and destinations as possible, but save money while doing so as well.
The card makes all the attractions and cultural sights available by purchasing only one, tourist card. The new Dubrovnik tourist card includes entrance into the museums and galleries and a visit to the town walls and the Lovrijenac Fort. A daily and a weekly tourist card will be introduced: the daily card will be sold at the price of HRK 100 and it will include: the town walls, the Duke’s Palace, the Rupe Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Revelin Fort, the Art Gallery and the Home of Marin Drzic. The total price of the admission tickets for all afore-mentioned places amounts to HRK 215 and by purchasing the daily tourist card, the user will save up more than 50%.
The development of the tourist card project will further continue with the introduction of a weekly tourist card which will, alongside the stated, include even more attractions, such as the Jewish Community (with a tour of the synagogue), the Catholic Church (its museums), the St. Claire’s Virtual Museum, the University of Dubrovnik’s Institute for Marine and Coastal Research (the aquarium), the Croatian War of Independence Museum, the Lokrum Reserve, the Libertas public transport, the public toilette, etc.
