Introduction into the Dubrovnik stories
The first post on Valamar blog is an introduction into the story about our most Southern destination, the ancient pearl of the Mediterranean, the city of Dubrovnik. Here you will be able to learn and read about everything that characterises this unique city on a regular basis, stories on how Dubrovnik once was, on everything going on in Dubrovnik today and of course – about things that Dubrovnik is still to experience.

As a valuable source of information it will serve the travellers who are yet to discover Dubrovnik. What in Dubrovnik is worth seeing and experiencing? How to read the city? How to make the best possible use of your stay here? What are the experiences of people who have already been to Dubrovnik? What kind of life do the citizens of Dubrovnik lead?…
These are only some of the questions that we will give answers to through our posts, and there will certainly be talk about other important things connected to Dubrovnik, about its history and vicissitudes throughout its history that have shaped its appearanceand its well-known spirit, we will have a look into the secrets of its interesting past, mention numerous people, events and circumstances that have marked its history, from the 7th century and the emergence of Laus, the periods of the Byzantine and Venetian rule, period of the free Republic of Dubrovnik up to the present day.
We will write about culture, tourism, science…, about great names from different fields that have given it’s contribution to the European heritage, but also about entertainment, numerous interesting facts and events that take place in Dubrovnik, from stories about the legendary troubadours, songs of “skaline“ and “volti“ (stairs and passages, characteristic for the Dubrovnik old town) to announcements and reviews of bigger events like “Dubrovnik summer festival” that lies ahead.
