Concert of Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra

Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra has been active since 1925, first as Dubrovnik Philharmonics, then from 1946 as Dubrovnik City Orchestra, and from 1992 as Dubrovnik Festival Orchestra. In 1995, it got the name that it has today – Dubrovnik symphony Orchestra. The orchestra is made of academic musicians who were educated mostly at the Zagreb Music Academy. Some of them continued to further their education in Moscow, Petrograd and Paris.
The orchestra has performed many times in Croatia and abroad, in various European countries and in US. Its repertoire consists of baroque, classical and romantic composers, whose compositions the orchestra performs in Dubrovnik “Knežev dvor”, in city churches and on town squares. Lovro pl. Mata?i?, Antonio Janigro, Zubin Mehta, Kiril Kondrašin, lord Yehudi Menuhin, Henryk Szeryng, Ivo Pogoreli?, Stefan Milenkovich, Mischa Maisky, Julian Rachlin, Alun Francis and Michel Legrand are only few of the composers and soloists who performed with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra.
We would like to invite you to the concert of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra accompanied by Milana Chernyavska playing piano, Sussane Yoko Henkel playing the violin and Monika Leskovar playing the violoncello, and directed by Ivan Repuši?. The concert will be held as a part of Dubrovnik Summer Festival on August 19th in the Atrium of “Knežev dvor”.
