Michael Palin in Croatia
The famous British travel writer, journalist and actor Michael Palin (you all remember Monty Phyton, don’t you?) in the new documentary about his travels made for the BBC and titled ‘Michael Palin’s New Europe’ had visited the Croatian coast, travelled Croatia from the north to the south and recorded his impressions and adventures in the series that started running yesterday in the evening on the BBC.
So far Palin made a series of documentaries for the BBC. The topic of the documentaries is his travels and this is the first time that countries from the “old continent” played the main role in it.
The concept of the series is made in the manner of an exquisite documentary BBC programme. The viewers who want to get to know Croatia and its surrounding in another way will definitely find it very interesting. Palin decided to visit, as they called them on the official site, 20 most exciting locations of the “new Europe”, between Estonia in the north all the way to Albania in the south. In his travels he toured our coast up and down and tried to convey his impressions to viewers.
Palin and the BBC crew were particularly impressed by the island of Hvar and the city of Dubrovnik. They decided to stop there and make extra stories about these two locations. On the island of Hvar they were hosted by a famous Hvar caterer, and after that they took a walk on the old Hvar streets, talked to the locals and went sightseeing. They also tried some original Dalmatian food and excellent Hvar wine.
After he left Hvar Palin advanced to Dubrovnik where he met maestro Edin Karamazov. Later went on to explore this ancient city.
